Bulls offense runs rampant

Tampa, FL (AP) - B.J. Daniels threw four touchdown passes and ran one in as 20th-ranked South Florida dominated Florida A&M, 70-17, at Raymond James Stadium.

Daniels was 21-for-31 with 382 yards while Darrell Scott added 12 carries for 146 yards and three touchdowns and also caught a touchdown for the Bulls (3-0), who have scored 130 points in their season thus far. Sterling Griffin caught eight passes for 97 yards and a score.

Austin Trainor threw two touchdowns and an interception on 10-for-24 passing with 106 yards for the Rattlers (1-2), who have dropped their past two games. Edmond Baker and Lavante Page each caught a score in the loss.

The Bulls scored on their first possession of the game as a six-play, 69-yard drive saw A.J. Love give the team a 7-0 lead on a 43-yard score from Daniels.

Later in the first, Jon Lejiste pitcked off a Trainor pass that set up a six- yard touchdown run by Scott with just over six minutes to play in the frame.

Another Rattlers turnover, this one a fumble from Jordan Stanley, led to a five-yard touchdown run from Daniels for a 21-0 lead just over a minute later.

Terry Johnson picked off a Bobby Eveld pass to give Florida A&M the ball at the South Florida seven-yard line late in the first. Just a minute into the second, Trainor hit Page on a four-yard score to make it a 21-7 game.

The Bulls, though, quickly responded as Scott took a carry 56 yards into the end zone.

Trainor again went to the air to get Florida A&M into the end zone as he found Baker on a 32-yard score just over three minutes into the second.

South Florida, though, scored three straight touchdowns to take a 49-14 lead into the break.

Following the Baker score, Daniels and Griffin connected on an 18-yard score to finish a six-play, 74-yard drive.

The Rattlers were then held to a three-and-out and on the third play of the drive, Daniels found Scott on an 84-yard score with just over six minutes to play in the half.

Another three-and-out from Florida A&M saw the Bulls again put the ball into the end zone on a 27-yard strike to Andre Davis from Daniels.

Scott had a 30-yard touchdown run in the third and a blocked punt was picked up by Davis and he took it into the end zone from 11 yards out for a 63-14 lead with five minutes left in the third.

Marcus Shaw scored on a two-yard run early in the fourth while Trevor Scott hit a 34-yard field goal for the Rattlers to account for the final score.
