South Florida has gotten their quarterback for the class of 2012.
Three-star quarterback Tyler Cameron is headed to Tampa.
Tyler Cameron, a three-star dual-threat quarterback out of Jupiter, Florida, announced Tuesday evening his intentions of heading to Tampa.
“I am committed to USF,” said the newest Bulls commitment. “It just feels like home to me and a great place for me to play and a good situation at quarterback. I think I can benefit from being there.”
It wasn’t a particular relationship or certain aspect of the school that completely sold Cameron. It was the combined feel of moving parts that all worked together to make him feel welcome.
“I just felt so comfortable with everybody,” Cameron said. “It just felt like it was the place to be for me. I have people over there that I know. It was just a really good, comfortable feeling.”
Cameron now goes from among the recruited to recruiter. Quarterbacks usually have a dramatic impact on a recruiting class becoming natural leaders that the position demands.
And so now Cameron will focus his efforts on some of the Bulls biggest targets.
“I will be recruiting my butt off,” said Cameron. “Evan Goodman and the receiver D’Vario Montgomery, I have been in contact with him. Whoever is out there.”
“I am excited,” Cameron said of the class he now is a part of. “Me and Chris Bivins have talked quite a bit. I really think we are going to have a special class and are going to enjoy it.”
Once on campus, Cameron intends to major in some type of business program.
