Plant LB Mitchell Wright picks USF

Tampa (Fla.) - Plant LB Mitchell Wright made his college decision today. Wright narrowed his list down to Boston College and USF.

During an announcement at his high school, Wright told members of the media and his teammate that he intends to play college football at South Florida.

Mitchell is a team leader and captain on Plant's State Title winning defense.

I'm going to be more then PO'ed if I hear any more stories from local recruits, coaches, fans, and BCP about how USF ignores local guys from Tampa.. That's four under the radar recruits USF has verbals from with Garcia probably eventually making it five..

Well this year has clearly been a change in tact by USF. They are aggressively going after the locals like they haven't done the past 2 years. Just look at the count, in 2011 and 2012 we signed a total of 4 kids from Polk, Pinellas, Brandenton, Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando, and Sarasota. During Leavitt's tenure we'd average as many as 10-12 from those counties each year. I think USF heard the calls, and are now looking harder locally, and then filling in the blanks elsewhere when needed. Those 7 counties have been traditionally very good to USF so it's hard to ignore any longer.

Why do I get the feeling Skip Holtz is nowhere near the recruiter Urban Meyer is??
Skip coached at ND and ECU, Urban also coached at ND .. and later at Bowling Green and Utah.

I don't think anyone would dispute that Meyer is one of the top recruiters in the nation... no matter who he's coaching for.
That being said, what's your point?

How is Skip Holtz vs Urban Meyer in any way related to this thread?
And Meyer has been recruiting for UF and OSU in his last 2 jobs.
I doubt he landed many 4 and 5 star guys at Utah and Bowling Green...
But, again....WTF does this have to do with Mitchell Wright committing to USF??

That photo attached to the article is humorous to me, in a very childish way. I am sure I look the same when I am out camping. I just hope Skip didn't have to strain to hard!
