I'm always looking for a new place to eat. My brothers a chef, so I know a thing or two about food...what are some of your favorite spots in Tampa?

Depends what you're looking for. Dunderbak's, La Teresita, Datz and The Second Line were the first 4 to pop into my head.
Datz is off the chain

Benedetto's in Land O Lakes is a hidden gem.
Brocato's is one of my favorites
Brocato's is the place with that Devil Crab Sandwich right? If I am remembering correctly that place is excellent.
Great topic! I have an unhealthy love for good food and there are tons of amazing restaurants here in Seattle.
The wife and I + new addition are going down to Tampa for the first time in over 3 years in May. Now that I'm not a student and can actually afford to eat out, no good restaurant is safe.
The only place I remember truly drooling over was a small jerk house in town n country. I hear that is no longer there.
Any good jerk house recommendations? I can't find decent Jamaican food for the life of me up here.
Miguels for Mexican. Charlies Steak House, although I like the one in Orlando better. Daily Eats for breakfast. Ran into Derek Jeter - on crutches, mind you - there with my family on Thanksgiving vacation.
We tried out The Laughing Cat in Ybor City this wknd and loved it. Great food and service. IMO it's one of the better Italian restaurants in Tampa.
Ocean Prime for good food and eye candy
This is a good opportunity to reignite the old Argos/Andros debate. I was Argos all the way, except when I wanted Ben & Jerry's afterwards, which was almost always.
I've tried a lot of the restaurants mentioned above and they are all great, but I'm going in a different direction and throwing out a few chains.
Gators Dockside by campus is a favorite pregame location. Some of the better hot wings in the area. While I was in school, they had an all you can eat wing night. That was awesome, and I'm sure they still do it.
Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza is the best pizza in Tampa. My favorite is the meatball and ricotta. They also have savory wings which ate one of the best things I have ever had. The meatballs are great as well. I can't recommend this place enough.
Other local places;
Taco Bus is a must try.
Vizcaya is my favorite tapas restaurant. I recommend the skirt steak and the oxtail. The sangria is pretty good too.
A lot of people love the Columbia, and I think it's worth going to if you are in the area for awhile. It's not my favorite food in town, but it's decent.
I was the only one of my friends that preferred Andros.
Breakfast foods after midnight = $
