Any news on Tice? I know visit was going well but that's it.
Thanks for the picture of him with the UK hat, Josh.
I just don't understand how someone from Florida can make a conscious decision to spend 4 years of their life in Kentucky.
Good luck to him. He would've been a nice fit in the offense. Not sure what the allure at UK is.
I could if it was an Ocala kid who grew up on horse farms. Or if he played hoops. But other than that, it's a strange choice
True. Deland =< Ocala.
I really hope a young guy like a McCray has a huge year.... Well anyone for that fact... just so he can look and think what could have been because to be honest, Kentucky is likely going to be the doormat for the SEC again. He's going to get beat up in that conference, well assuming he sees the field which he likely will. Be funny if they slap a redshirt on him right away because he is not expecting that at all.
Just a reminder... we aren't exactly clipping coupons with Stefon McCray. The guy is a beast. If we can get Tice, I think we would have had a great RB class.
It's called SEC......
Josh... fwi.. 247 needs to update USF roster. It still has Jason Pierre-Paul on it and is missing a ton of current players.
Well, there's an easy way to find out.
Ask our current head coach, who somehow found ways to bring all sorts of talent to the worst team in FBS...in Kentucky.
I'd rather go D2 if I was put on one of the best D2/FCS teams. Like, if I was one of those BCS-tweeners? I'd go down instead of "up" to being a third stringer for my career.
With that said, I'd rather be on a USF team that could be competitive next year in most all of their games and have a better overall shot at winning the conference title, than in one of the historically worst teams in my conference.
You sound like a true competitor...glad you aren't joining Kemp in KY. And, for you all knocking someone choosing to spend 4 years in KY, it's very clear you've never been anywhere near Lexington or the UK campus. It's beautiful up there and the people are as nice as can be. Kemp and many other FL kids will love it up there too. Just ask your fellow USF fans who made the trip up when you all played UK about 10 years ago and they'll surely agree.
As for USF, you guys will be just fine. Taggert is a fantastic coach and recruiter, and the greater Tampa area is a great place to not only go to school, but live and work afterwards. As fans, don't ruin a good thing though by directly cussing kids out on twitter and bashing them on message boards when they don't choose to be Bulls. Word gets out among those kids. Good luck this season from a FL native and UK alumn.
Point is, this is a football player, and NFL football players rarely come out of the UK football program. Kemp would rather play at UK and looked at his current opportunity as being easier to get playing time at that position, rather than compete with a bigger, tougher runningback in Stafon McCray, who if I were a betting man, would tell you that he's better than Jojo today anyway, and can prove it. Kemp backed down from the competition from McCray. Taggart gave him an opportunity to go head to head for BOTH backs and Kemp turned it down. I'm just calling it as I see it.
Everyone just needs to take a breath and move on, don't react just like these 18 yr old kids do. If Kemp,Badet and the others think UK or another school is better for them, then good luck to them. There are enough good recruits in our state that choose to be Bulls that USF can win with. Lets focus on those future and current Bulls.
